Care & Prayer

Applewood has many outlets for prayer and support, and we hope to equip
and encourage the body of Christ through many of life's storms.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry trains & equips lay people from Applewood’s congregation to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in the church and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. Stephen Ministers meet weekly with their assigned care receiver, listen to them and pray for them. They encourage them by providing emotional and spiritual care while faced with a crisis or difficulty such as:

  • Loneliness or discouragement
  • Spiritual Crisis
  • Unemployment or a job crisis
  • Relocation
  • Birth, adoption, miscarriage, or infertility
  • Loss of a loved one
  • Marriage difficulties, divorce or separation
  • Loss of independence
  • Hospitalization, chronic illness, cancer

Compassionate Connections

Our mission seeks to share the love of Jesus through providing the opportunity for members who are unable to regularly attend church, remain involved in church through visits, fellowship and the administering of the Lord's Supper.

Why have a HomeBound ministry?

To provide an arm of the church to minister to the spiritual needs of our HomeBound members.

To add quality and meaning to the life of the HomeBound by giving love and encouragement.

To minister to the personal needs of our HomeBound members.

To help with this ministry, to learn more about this ministry of if you would like the church to be aware of someone who might benefit from a visit, you can call the Church Office at 303.232.9575.
