Care & Prayer
Applewood has many outlets for prayer and support, and we hope to equip
and encourage the body of Christ through many of life's storms.
Stephen Ministry trains & equips lay people from Applewood’s congregation to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in the church and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. Stephen Ministers meet weekly with their assigned care receiver, listen to them and pray for them. They encourage them by providing emotional and spiritual care while faced with a crisis or difficulty such as:
- Loneliness or discouragement
- Spiritual Crisis
- Unemployment or a job crisis
- Birth, adoption, miscarriage, or infertility
- Loss of a loved one
- Marriage difficulties, divorce or separation
- Loss of independence
- Hospitalization, chronic illness, cancer
Our mission seeks to share the love of Jesus through providing the opportunity for members who are unable to regularly attend church, remain involved in church through visits, fellowship and the administering of the Lord's Supper.
Why have a HomeBound ministry?
To provide an arm of the church to minister to the spiritual needs of our HomeBound members.
To add quality and meaning to the life of the HomeBound by giving love and encouragement.
To minister to the personal needs of our HomeBound members.
To help with this ministry, to learn more about this ministry of if you would like the church to be aware of someone who might benefit from a visit, you can call the Church Office at 303.232.9575.
Journey of Hope
A cancer diagnosis can make you feel isolated, scared & alone. Applewood’s Cancer Care Ministry’s mission is to offer God’s hope and love for those facing the challenges of cancer. Our volunteers are survivors who faced their own cancer journey and want to make a difference in the lives of others. It is our desire that no one faces cancer alone.
This group meets on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month at 10AM in our South Assembly. The group provides support and encouragement and is open to men and women who have been affected by cancer, whether they are the patient themselves, caregivers, or family members.
Each meeting is a little different with speakers and helpful info on how to cope with cancer. If you or someone you know could use the encouragement and support this group provides, please join us!
GriefShare is a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after the loss of a loved one through death or divorce. Our group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and want to help you get through the difficult days ahead. We know it hurts and we want to help.
Men and women are welcome!
This free support group will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 6-8PM beginning August 10. Childcare is provided. This group is led by Brenda Fletcher. Please let us know you're coming by selecting the drop-down option below for GriefShare.
